Insight of September 2015 CEP - Coach Induction


Cricket India Academy, in conjunction with Cricket Australia and Fourth Dimension International Limited conducted 5th Edition of Cricket Education Program (CEP) Coach Induction from August 30th to September 03rd 2015 at Kohinoor Business School, Kohinoor City, Mumbai through trained assessed coaches from Cricket Australia. Cricket India   Academy is committed to provide training and development of their coaches to certify a high quality training program for participants.
The Coach Induction Program is a corner stone of the Cricket Education Program as it brings together Indian coaches with their knowledge and experience and combines it with the latest coach methodology and teaching techniques. The objective of coach induction program focuses on theory and practical cricket coaching sessions to inculcate cricket skills and knowledge with modern coaching techniques and methodologies to coaches.

The faculty team of coach induction was headed by Cricket Australia Coach Educator Michael Procajlo, Program Manager from Cricket New South Wales along with qualified India CEP Coaches Abhishek Shekhawat &   Bhavana Patil.

The induction started with a warm welcome & introduction of faculty members, coach participants and CIA core team. Over the course duration distinctive topics were covered spread over classroom & practical sessions ranging from the Australian way of coaching to the game sense development.


To ensure that coaches are capably deliver Cricket Education Program to the next generation of aspiring young  cricketers all the candidates were evaluated over Communication assessment & Practical assessment. The communication assessment was assessed via the presentation given by the candidates for the 5 minutes over the topics provided to them. In order to evaluate candidate’s skill knowledge, the candidates had to conduct a coaching session for 10 - 12 children for 10 minutes over the skill topic designated to them.

Moreover, special topics about importance of Cricket Education Program, session planning, umpiring & scoring were covered by experts as well as session over first-aid was delivered by Kohinoor Hospital Physio therapist Dr. Nupur. These topics would be helpful for the candidates to enrich their overall knowledge encompassing ground coaching. It was a great collective effort from all of the candidates, coaches and the support staff to run five day program smoothly and successfully as witnessed through interaction with the faculty.

Recently there was an another verdict on spot fixing which again left its fans wondering, “ Cricket – A Gentleman’s game anymore ?” We hear often about how teamwork, getting ahead of the competition and winning apply both to high performing business units and sports teams.
