Recently there was an another verdict on spot fixing which again left its fans wondering, “ Cricket – A Gentleman’s game anymore ?” We hear often about how teamwork, getting ahead of the competition and winning apply both to high performing business units and sports teams. Often under-analysed, yet frequently dominating our headlines is how both sports and business are too often plagued by scandals. Two recent glaring examples are the high profile IPL fixing episode and involvement of few Pakistan players in spot fixing that outlined how all this hurting a normal cricket fan who devotes so much of his time and money only to see his favourite team winning or favourite player performing. Ricky Ponting enters Australian Hall of Fame

The former Australian Captain and Coach of IPL Franchisee team Mumbai Indians Ricky Ponting was inducted into the Sports Australia hall of fame in Melbourne on Wednesday night.  The moment also became special as Punter was inducted by none other than his former long-time teammate and his deputy during his captain-ship days Adam Gilchrist. To be inducted in Sports Australia hall of fame, athlete must be retired for two years before being eligible and committee didn't miss any chance to include Ricky Ponting in this list at the first available opportunity. Before Ricky Ponting cricket legends like Sir Don Bradman, Steve Waugh and Shane Warne were also inducted into Sports Australia hall of fame. Ponting is the highest run scorer for Australia in tests and One day Internationals scoring 13,378 runs in test matches at an average of 51.85 and 13,704 runs in One Day Internationals at an average of 42.03. Indian cricket’s greatest administrator was a man of vision

“I was surprised when it was declared that N. Srinivasan will represent the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an International Cricket Council (ICC) Board Meeting in Barbados held from  June 24 to June 26  this year. I asked myself, how a person barred from becoming BCCI President was eligible to represent BCCI in an ICC meeting ? It was earlier in the month of March when Jagmohan Dalmiya was elected as the BCCI president that too after a gap of 10 years and ideally should have represented the BCCI at the ICC Board Meeting in Barbados. Later, it came to light that Kolkata-based Chief of Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Jagmohan Dalmiya was having some health issues.
